Many children in Uganda and Tanzania have no access to fundamental school education.
A lack of financial resources is the most common reason for a family to deny their child or children attendance to a school. In some unfortunate cases, families are forced to rely on their children to work and contribute to the income.
The Exchange Project
Intercultural understanding is the best weapon against prejudice and misunderstanding. Therefore, with the help of our exchange programme, we promote international understanding between the individual countries and ethnic groups of East Africa and other regions of the world. Adolescents and young adults should get to know their direct neighbours, reduce prejudices and develop a healthy self-confidence.
Volunteering instead of summer vacation
Hanne was in Uganda in the summer of 2022 and supported us from there. Together with Vicky and Nadina she organized, among other things, a two-week summer camp. Here she writes about her experiences.
Sexual education course
On 9 May, we held our first awareness course for all young people aged 13-17. The course was organised by our social worker Victoria and showed us how important it is to offer it more often in the future.
